Things to Do & Places to Stay

JACKSON CONVENTION COMPLEX
Downtown Jackson continues to grow. Office occupancy exceeds 85%. Over 30 restaurants and bars call downtown home. With 4 museums, more than 10 historic sites, and an emerging residential market, Downtown Jackson is livelier than ever. Now, Jackson is enjoying the benefits of the recently completed Jackson Convention Complex.
The Jackson Convention Complex is the City of Jackson’s first convention center. The Jackson Convention Complex was a multi-phased project with the Mississippi TelCom Center (completed in 2005) and the Capital City Convention Center. When the Capital City Convention Center was nearly complete in the summer of 2008, the two facilities merged to form the Jackson Convention Complex.
On Saturday, January 17th, 2009, the Jackson Convention Complex held its grand opening with thousands taking part in the community festival, and since then, the Convention Complex has drawn thousands more into the facility and Downtown Jackson.
The 330,000 square foot facility features 128,000 square feet of meeting space, encompassing a 60,000-square-foot exhibit hall, a 25,000-square-foot ballroom, and 33,000 square feet of lobbies, concourse, and pre-function areas.
The complex will also feature multiple easy-access loading docks, two full-service concession areas, two boardrooms, 10 meeting rooms, and more – all accented by the very latest in fiber optic technology, Wi-Fi capability, and state-of-the-art sound.
The Jackson Convention Complex provides all the technology and meeting space required by any group, organization, or association and is steps away from Downtown entertainment.
