SUNY Visits Jackson

Last week, the "State University of New York" (SUNY) College of Environmental Science and Forestry chose Jackson, Mississippi over a host of other cities, to conduct a 4 day charrette, analyzing our city and her future. A copy of the quality of work they do is the study on Chancellorsville, Virginia.

From the Sunday reception at Sal and Mookie's,  to the closing session on Wednesday, they broke up into groups and met with a great many people, organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and associations. They headquartered at the downtown offices of Canizaro Cawthon Davis, where this picture was taken.

Their leader, Dr. Margaret Bryant, is a Memphis native, and a graduate of Mississippi State University.  The nine students, none of whom had ever been to Mississippi, were from China, Los Angeles and the New York area. They fell in love with our state, our city and her prospects for the future.

After a few weeks of follow up by them for further information, they will be sending us their report. This was all done by SUNY at no cost.

We are very excited about their final report, and will post it as soon as available.
